Open Water SCUBA Experience 

This experience program is designed to introduce the diver to the basic concepts of open water diver program and to provide a practical confined water and open Water exposure.

  • NOTE: It is not a Qualification Program.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Open Water Diver SCUBA Experience?
  • This Program qualifies a diver to dive to a maximum depth of 33 fsw (10 msw) in open water.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • A minimum of 10 years of age.

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • No Student Kit is requested for this experience program.

What this program must include?
  • Academic Sessions;

  • Confined Water Sessions;

  • Open Water Sessions.

Supervised Diver

This Program is designed to provide basic training to those who wish to enter into SCUBA diving adventures within limited time.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Supervised Diver Certification?
  • This Program qualifies a diver to dive to a maximum depth of 40 fsw (12 msw) in open water.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • A minimum of 10 years of age.

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • IANTD Open Water Student Kit.

What this program must include?
  • Academic Sessions;

  • Confined Water Sessions;

  • Open Water Sessions.

Open Water Diver & OW EANx Diver

This Program is designed to provide comprehensive training to those who wish to become SCUBA divers. This Program emphasizes the skills and knowledge needed to develop a safer novice diver and to develop a sense of confidence and responsibility in those joining the adventures of underwater discovery. This Program qualifies a diver to dive to a maximum depth of 60 fsw (18 msw) in open water, accompanied by other divers of at least the same level, without supervision of a Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor. The purpose of this program is to qualify a diver to participate in diving activities where appropriate Diver Support is always available at the surface, where in-water decompression stops are not required, and under conditions that are equal or better than the conditions where they were trained.

  • This Program qualifies a diver to dive to a maximum depth of 60 fsw (18 msw) in open water.

Enriched Air Nitrox Diver

This Program is designed to provide Sport Divers with a safer than air breathing medium for enjoying dives in the 40 to 132 fsw (12 to 40 msw) depth ranges. The diver may elect to dive the “mix” on EANx tables, or dive conservatively using air dive computers or air tables.
The IANTD EANx Diver qualification may be taught as a single Program or combined with a variety of the IANTD Advanced or Specialty Diver Programs.
The Program covers the use of EANx mixes in the range of 21% to a maximum of 40% oxygen.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD EANx Diver Program?
  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than the student’s previous qualification, or a maximum of 132 fsw (40 msw).

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • A minimum of 10 years of age.

  • Must be a qualified Open Water Diver

Advanced Open Water Diver

This mid-level Continuing Education Program is designed to enable IANTD Open Water Divers to extend their proficiency in the water and to gain more supervised practical experience.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver SCUBA Experience?
  • This Program qualifies a diver to dive to a maximum depth of 100 fsw (30 msw) in open water.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • A minimum of 10 years of age.

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • IANTD Advanced Open Water Student Kit.

What this program must include?
  • Academic Sessions;

  • Confined Water Sessions;

  • Open Water Sessions.

Rescue Diver

This Program is designed to develop proficiency in self-rescue and buddy-rescue.

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Open Water Diver Program?
  • This Program qualifies a diver to dive to a maximum depth of 60 fsw (18 msw) in open water.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • A minimum of 15 years of age.

  • Must be qualified as:

    • I. IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent or must provide proof of a minimum of 10 logged dives.

    • IANTD Diving First Aid or equivalent

    • IANTD Oxygen Administrator or equivalent

    • IANTD CPR or equivalent

      • NOTE: The Diving First Aid, CPR and Oxygen Administrator Programs may be taken concurrently with the Rescue Diver Course.

      • NOTE: AED certification is recommended.

Recreational Trimix Diver

The purpose of this Program is designed to provide Sport Divers with a breathing medium for extending their dives to Sport Diving Depths by using ENDs no greater than 100 fsw (30 msw) depth ranges. The program qualifies divers to do no-stop required dives using Recreational Trimix Gas mixtures to a depth of 132 fsw (40 msw).

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver Program?
  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than 132 fsw/40 msw.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.

  • Must be a qualified as:

    • IANTD Deep Diver equivalent.

    • IANTD EANx Diver or equivalent

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver Student Kit.

What this program must include?
  • Academic Sessions

  • Confined Water Sessions

  • Open Water Sessions

Deep Diver 

This Program is designed to provide responsible training to divers who plan to dive to a maximum of 132 fsw (40 msw) on air. The IANTD Deep Diver Program trains divers in skills, performance, theory and planning of deep dives. This Program remains within the commonly practiced depth of 132 fsw (40 msw).

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Deep Diver Program?

No dives may be conducted to depths greater than 132 fsw or 40 msw.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.

  • Must be a qualified as:

    • IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent.

  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 10 logged dives.

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • IANTD Deep Diver Student Kit.

What this program must include?
  • Academic Sessions

  • Confined Water Sessions

  • Open Water Sessions

Elite SCUBA Diver

This certification has been designed to provide divers with the highest recognition in the recreational level before entering the professional diving circle in teaching or in technical diving.

How deep can you dive with the Program?
  • No dives are required.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Certifications requirements:

    • IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent.

    • IANTD Rescue Diver or equivalent.

    • Must have 5 IANTD certifications between IANTD Specializaed Programs, Tek Lite Programs and Overhead & Technical Programs.

      • NOTE: Only IANTD Specialized programs other than Diver First Aid, CPR, Oxygen Administrator or AED are valid for the application.

  • Age requirement:

    • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.

  • Dive experience:

    • Proof of a minimum of 50 logged dives.

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • No training materials are required.

Application Procedure
  • Fill & submit the Elite Diver Application Form to an IANTD Instructor, HQ or local licensee.

Deep DECO Diver

This Program is designed to provide responsible training to divers who plan to dive to a maximum of 132 fsw (40 msw) on air and do required decompression stops. The IANTD Deep DECO Diver Program trains divers in skills, performance, theory and planning of deep dives with limited decompression time of 10 minutes. This Program remains within the commonly practiced depth of 132 fsw (40 msw).

How deep can you dive with the IANTD Deep DECO Diver Program?
  • No dives may be conducted to depths greater than 132 fsw or 40 msw.

What do you need to enroll in this program?
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.

  • Must be a qualified as:

    • IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent.

    • IANTD Recreational Essentials Diver.

  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 20 logged dives.

What is the minimum materials requirements?
  • IANTD Deep Diver Student Kit.

What this program must include?
  • Academic Sessions

  • Confined Water Sessions

  • Open Water Sessions
